After final interview, what now?

After those numerous questions of the Emirates recruiters in the final interview stage, they will explain to you on the next procedures that will happen. They will tell you certain time frame on when are you going to receive the email that denotes that you passed the final interview stage & will proceed in medical examination. That email will also include some documents you need to accomplish upon entering to the family of Emirates. It will include your temporary joining date – the date of your flight in Dubai.

Sounds easy? But this includes a very anxious waiting period. So what will you do? (more…)

Certified Coffee Lover

My husband & I are certified coffee lovers. It has been in our system to drop by in Starbucks & grab coffee. We so love their coffee that we came to the point in including it in our budget.

Beside this regular visit in Starbucks, we have also coffee maker in our house. I can’t go out in our house without taking a cup of coffee. Or if it’s badly needed & no time to drink coffee, you will see me in Starbucks drive thru, taking my coffee. (more…)

A reliable source!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I’m so excited!

There are so many things to be thankful for this year; number 1 is our new baby boy – Theron Manuel. Also, for God’s continues guidance in our family especially to our little girl – Yoanna.

Like last year, we will be in my parents-in-law place in Las Vegas to celebrate Thanksgiving. We will be traveling by Wednesday- Nov. 26, around afternoon and be back here by Sunday – Nov, 30. (more…)

Economical Services

We recently trade-in our Ford Explorer to Dodge Caravan. Since the family is growing, we need also to have a bigger car. Second thing also is that the Ford Explorer we used to have is consuming a lot of gas. We all know that USA has been in high gas price issue as well. Although lately, the price of gas totally went down to less than $2.

Anyway, my husband is so excited with this family van. We like it so (more…)

Need to Re-submit pictures!

Well I m still expecting to hear from emirates if I was successful or not…..
In fact they called few days ago and asked me to send another full length photo in business attire cause my posture was not what it should be in the first one (meaning one of my legs was more forward of the other).
Why bother if they are going to reject me?
What do you think?? (Valia 11/21/08)

Topic for Group Discussion

This has been posted in the comment section of posts under the 5th category of this blog specifically the post Becoming EMIRATES Cabin Crew – Selection Day. In return, I tried to post a reply on each comment/inquiry even though this kind of question has been asked so many times. I understand that it’s quite time consuming to browse hundred questions in the comment section, so I realized that maybe doing a separate post for this hopefully will be a lot better for those whose confused on “group discussion” in Emirates application procedure.

Have you heard about AMERISAVE?

Have you heard about Amerisave? Honestly, it’s my first time to hear about it but such word has been what the people of America have been discussing lately. It’s like “America Save!”

It’s been in the news & has been a part of presidential campaigns that America is having economic problem now. And everybody is encouraging to be more conscious on their finances. Find ways to cut-off everything & have at least a cent to save. (more…)

Curtain vs. Blinds

I have to admit that this is my first time to live in a house that has blinds on our window, and I just love it. I realized how hard it will be if I’m maintaining curtains. Even if laundry is not really that bad with our heavy duty washing machine, but still keeping curtains in well-polished requires more than just a regular laundry schedule.

I once had custom vertical blinds in the flat I’m staying back then in Bahrain. When I moved in there, the blinds are already fixed but still there’s (more…)
