Yesterday in Oprah it was the first TV interview of Thomas Beatie – the very controversial pregnant man!

Thomas is a transgender male & married to his wife Nancy who happened to be not capable of conceiving a child. Nancy had a hysterectomy due to endometriosis & couldn’t get pregnant; they agreed that Thomas, not a surrogate, would be inseminated with donor sperm & carry the baby. The couple new that this will be a big issue that they need to undertake carefully. As per the interview with Oprah, Thomas noted that they tried to communicate with organizations to ask help & as expected, mostly disagreed for them to go out publicly. They even experienced being declined by some doctors in Oregon.

Going on public & announcing a “strange” thing in the entire world is surely a lot to take. Considering that up to now, we really don’t have a distinctive definition on the rights of our gay friends. Although, Oprah was good enough to deliver such interview with Thomas & a lot of questions were cleared. And I would say, somehow lighten the impression towards the gay couple. As they boldly show their love & desire of having a family as normal as it is.

Certainly, religious organizations will definitely react on this matter. Most would possibly disagree. This is another controversial thing for the gay world. As for me, I do have a lot of gay friends & I admire them on how talented they are. But then, as a Christian, there are some instances that go beyond my beliefs & in return I just respect them on such choices they made.

Will Thomas & Nancy gain such respect after showing to the world another “strange” choice of a regular gay couple?
